It's always tough to hear when one of our favorite musicians are no longer living. It's almost like a reality check. As we're growing up, we tend to look at these artists as if they'll physically live forever. We can't possibly imagine them growing old or suffering from some kind of ailment. Today, however, is one of those reality checks. Prodigy, the rapper from the legendary NY duo called Mobb Deep, has died at the age of 42.
Prodigy, whose real name is Albert Johnson, was on tour with Ghostface Killah, Onyx, KRS-One, and Ice-T. Although Prodigy had suffered from health issues for most of his life, the exact cause of death is not confirmed.
Mobb Deep was known for their dark, punchy, and hardcore delivery. Their song 'Shook Ones (Part 2)' is one of Hip Hop's most iconic songs ever recorded. Rolling Stone described Mobb Deep as a "raw, vivid, and vicious distillation of East Coast gangsta rap."
