Joey Bada$$ Addresses Trump's America in 'All-Amerikkkan Bada$$'

April 7, 2017

Since his debut release, Joey Bada$$ has artistically grown and is beginning to find himself. The Brooklyn rapper's second studio album talks about what it is like to be a black man living in Trump's America. He touches on topics such as racism, police brutality, inequality, etc. He acknowledges that, as a people of color, we have made some progress (our first black president to ever be elected), but we must keep fighting and educating ourselves. This album is filled with smooth production and Jazzy samples. It has a classic, Hip Hop aesthetic with elements of funk that fits Joey Bada$$'s voice well. Combine its great production with its potent/relevant lyrics, and you have an album that can potentially stand the test of time.
